Twist In The Wind
(Sung to the tune of "Dust In The Wind" by Kansas)

Bush consigliere Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez has been left twisting in the wind, facing fire from a skeptical Congress and under increasing pressure from his own party to resign as Attorney General

He chose more lies...
Relieved for a moment, but that moment's gone.
Spying schemes...
"Vote fraud" cases; prize to gut democracy.

Twist... in the wind...
Let Gonzalez twist in the wind.

Gonzo's wrong: DOJ's been slaughtered for Shrub's monarchy
Right wing dreams: passed for truth are lies, through Bush pomposity.
Twist... in the wind...
Let Gonzalez twist in the wind.

So, he'll hang on; lightweight isn't clever; clout just got him by.
That's Bush's way... through testimony, now we've learned the reason why.

Twist... in the wind...
Let Gonzalez twist in the wind.

Twist... in the wind...
Let Gonzalez twist in the wind.

I'll Take The Fifth Amendment
(Sung to the tune of "The Twelfth of Never" by Johnny Mathis)

Monica Goodling, former Dept. of Justice/White House liason and top aide to scandal-plagued Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez resigned rather than testify to Congress about U.S. attorneys being fired for political reasons; she recently testified under an immunity agreement. As sung by Monica Goodling immediately after resigning:

(instrumental intro)

You asked how much did I do; would I explain?
My name's Monica Goodling, and I must refrain.
You ask 'bout fired attorneys? I've said, "Adieu."
I'll take the Fifth Amendment; don't ask me or pursue.

Rove can boast... 'cause he runs the show.
Rove can boast... I've departed; I'll lay low.

My lawyer will to me tell... forget my gloom.
My lawyer will come over... to save me from doom.
My lawyer will fix things so... I don't serve time.
I'll take the Fifth Amendment, and won't admit a crime.

I'll take the Fifth Amendment, and won't... ad-mit... a... crime....

Wake Up, Mr. Ashcroft
(Sung to the tune of "Wake Up, Little Suzie" by The Everly Brothers)

Satire inspired by the testimony of former Deputy Attorney General James Comey, who testified before Congress that President Bush sent then White House Counsel (now Attorney General) Alberto Gonzalez and Chief of Staff Andrew Card to the hospital room of the gravely-ill Attorney General John Ashcroft, to attempt to coerce him into signing off on authorization on Bush's policy of spy on Americans without court warrants. Comey and Ashcroft both refused to sign off on the policy, but Bush bypassed them and established the illegal spying program anyway.

(As sung by Alberto Gonzalez and Andrew Card to the bed-ridden, half-conscious John Ashcroft, on March 11, 2004:)

Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft... wake up!
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft... wake up!
Yes, you've been sound asleep.
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft, and peep...
Just sign these papers and we'll go home, or you're in trouble deep.
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft... Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft... well...

We don't wanna hear your drama.
We don't wanna hear 'bout law.
We don't wanna hear 'bout ending spying, nor its flaws.
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft... wake up!
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft... well...

Was told by Dubya: had to try again
To skirt all the law books, needed loyal men.
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft...
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft... or we won't go home.

(instrumental break)

Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft... wake up!
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft... wake up!
The President's getting hot,
You won't go along with the plot.
That Comey creep plays by the book.
Wait, he's the A.G., you're not?!
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft... Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft... well...

We don't wanna hear your drama.
We don't wanna hear 'bout law.
We don't wanna hear 'bout ending spying, nor its flaws
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft...
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft...
Wake up, Mr. Ashcroft...

I Don't Remember
(Sung to the tune of "Try To Remember" by The Kingston Trio)

Satire about what the willfully forgetful Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez dare not utter, after he was grilled by Congress over the political firings of eight U.S. Attorneys who were deemed "not loyal enough" to the Bush administration. [USA's = U.S. Attorneys]

(As sung in private by Abu Gonzo:)

I don't remember I tried to dismember the Bill of Rights, to help Dear Leader.
I don't remember I tried to dismember Geneva rights, the terr'ist breeder.
I don't remember I fired eight U.S. Attorneys, who refused to stop vote cheaters.
I don't remember, no, I don't remember... you follow? Follow?

I don't remember resignations tendered from USA's who were disloyal.
I don't remember the plots Rove engendered; who dreamed of votes that he could spoil.
I don't remember nor will I surrender; for I'll protect Bush, and keep him royal.
I don't remember, no, I don't remember... you follow? Follow?

(instrumental break)

I don't remember if Federalist members were pushed for posts after the purging.
I don't remember if still-burning embers of scandals past, are re-emerging.
I don't remember what fell last November, some prosecutors axed through Rove's urging.
I don't remember, no, I don't remember... you follow? Follow, follow, follow?
