I Want YOO Out Of The Legal Profession

Originally posted April 9, 2008

What Did Yoo Do?
(Sung to the tune of "How Do You Do?" by Mouth & McNeil)

Satire targeting the infamous "Torture Memos" written in 2001 and 2003 to give President George Dubya Bush illegal "war-time powers" by former Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Yoo, using tortured legal reasoning to sanction torture while violating the U.S. Constitution and the Geneva Conventions.

[Sorry, no MIDI music is available]

(instrumental intro)

Bush said, "What I want to do... is rule, and not say why."
Convinced the world his lies were true; Iraq bombed from the sky.
Bush has just nine more months to go; impeach him 'fore he's through!
Stop torture, his "solution" that was cooked up by his crew.

Chorus:
What did Yoo do? He wrote
That "torture can go on and on."
For W., more torture can go on and on.
In times of war, more torture can go on and on.
Won't say, what for; more torture can go on and on.
Yoo and Bush still shilling war.

What did Yoo do? He wrote
That "torture can go on and on."
For W., more torture can go on and on.
In times of war, more torture can go on and on.
Won't say, what for; more torture can go on and on.
Yoo and Bush still shilling war.

Leaderless... Rudderless... On A Sinking, Stinking Ship
Some things should never be cloned

They'll Never Clone A Duh-Buh-You
(Sung to the tune of "I'll Never Find Another You" by The Seekers)

(instrumental intro)

Shrub is going nowhere.
He cannot understand.
That he'll be gone one day,
Then he won't rule this land.
Cloning people's quite an idea.
Just watch out what they do.
Let's make sure they'll never clone a Duh-Buh-You.

Shrub's the Always Dumb One.
Just hear the things he'll say.
Do not heed this Dumb One.
Boot him Election Day.
He could screw the whole world over,
Before his reign is through.
Let's make sure they'll never clone a Duh-Buh-You.

Took a long, long, journey
To Crawford, to hide.
Shrub can't walk through the storm...
Without his guide (Dick's his guide).

Bush's family fortune
Can't measure Shrub at all.
He could lose power tomorrow,
And watch his regime fall.
"In '04, I'll lose," the Shrub fears,
"I don't know what to do."
Let's make sure they'll never clone a Duh-Buh-You.

A Duh-Buh-You... A Duh-Buh-You.
